Scottish actress Kelly Macdonald plays Margaret Schroeder, an abused wife who turns to Nucky Thompson (Steve Buscemi) for help in HBO's gangster series Boardwalk Empire. It's not long before Thompson's heavies have dealt with her violent husband, leaving Mrs Schroeder a widow.
